Experience Gentle Wisdom Teeth Removal at EDentist Dandenong
Nagging Pain in the Back of Your Mouth:
Constant discomfort that just won't go away.

Difficulty Opening Your Mouth:
Pain or stiffness when trying to open wide.

Swollen or Red Gums:
Tender areas that make eating and drinking a challenge.

Bad Breath or Unpleasant Taste:
Persistent bad breath or a weird taste in your mouth.

Wisdom teeth usually erupt between the ages of 17 and 25, and even if they come in without pain or discomfort, they often cause problems later on. These third molars can crowd your other teeth, grow in at awkward angles, or become impacted (stuck) beneath the gum line, leading to more serious dental issues.
We know how frustrating and painful wisdom teeth can be. That’s why our experienced team is dedicated to providing gentle, professional wisdom teeth removal in a comforting environment. We use the latest techniques and anaesthesia to make the procedure as smooth and stress-free as possible, ensuring you get back to your pain-free life quickly.

Initial Consultation:
We start with a consultation to check your teeth and take x-rays. This helps us see where your wisdom teeth are and plan the best way to remove them.

Anaesthesia:
On the day of the procedure, we’ll numb the area around your wisdom teeth with a local anaesthetic, so you don’t feel pain. If needed, we can also use a mild sedative or general anaesthesia to help you relax.

Extraction:
Once you’re numb, our dentist will make small incisions in your gums if the teeth are impacted. We’ll remove any bone blocking the tooth, then gently extract the wisdom teeth. For erupted teeth, it’s even simpler and may not need incisions.

Stitching and Cleaning:
After removing the teeth, we clean the area and may place stitches to help you heal. These stitches dissolve on their own, so you don’t need to worry about them.

Post-Procedure Care:
You’ll get clear aftercare instructions to ensure a smooth recovery. We’ll tell you how to manage pain, reduce swelling, and what foods to avoid. Plus, we’re always here to answer any questions you have during your recovery.

Enjoy Your Pain-Free Smile:
Wisdom teeth removal is a surgical procedure requiring anesthesia. As such, patients will often feel groggy immediately after the operation and require a ride home. Recovery time varies with every person, but most people experience swelling and soreness for a few days up to a few weeks.
Although recovery times vary for every patient, you can follow various steps to ensure your mouth heals properly. For example, we recommend consuming soft or liquid foods for the first few days, avoiding drinking with a straw, and using an ice pack to help reduce swelling. Since soreness and minor pain is common following the procedure, we can also recommend prescription medications.
